§ X — The screens

What it looks like
on your phone.

One plate, and a plain account of everything else — including the screens that are not here, and why one of them was taken down.

The First Rep home screen: today's set count set large, the three lifts of the session marked beneath it, a week of small bars, the running count of days and the week's total, the two most recent entries, and one full-width button to log a set.
Today's page

There was a second plate here

It showed a subscription sheet with three prices on it. Not one of those figures had been decided, and one of the rows advertised a saving for paying annually — a comparison this house does not print anywhere. A picture that quotes a price is a promise made by an image, and it was a promise nobody had agreed to, so the plate came down rather than being edited into something more careful.

Pricing published before launch. When there is a figure it goes on the front page in words, and the plate can be struck honestly after that.

What is on the first screen

  • Today's session — the three lifts, in order, with the weight to load already worked out.
  • What five reps at that weight should feel like, in a plain sentence rather than a number you have not earned yet.
  • The count of sessions kept, and the week so far, set small; it is a record, not a scoreboard.
  • The last few sets you logged, in the order you racked them.
  • One button to log a set, because a log you have to navigate to is a log that goes stale by Thursday.

And behind it

  • The five lifts, each with its own history and its own current weight.
  • The reduction, when a lift has been missed twice — applied, dated, and visible rather than silent.
  • The week ahead: which session is next and which lifts are in it.
  • An export of everything you have logged, because it is your record and it should be able to leave.

What is deliberately absent

No food log, no calorie target, no weigh-in field, and no photograph of anybody's torso. No feed, no leaderboard, no other lifter, and no way for a person you know to see what you lifted.

No supplement store and no affiliate links, so nothing on any screen has a commercial reason to recommend a product to you. No ads at all.

Where it stands

Not yet released, and not yet priced. It is built for iPhone on iOS 18 and later, with the training log held on the device by the system's own storage — which is why we cannot read it, restore it, or be asked for it.

Enter the register and we write once, on the day it ships. How it works is the method in four steps.
